__Welcome to my percent post!__

__Part 1 - Describe how to find percents.__- 50% = Take the whole and divide by 2.

- 10% = Take the whole and divide by 10.

- 1% = Take the whole and divide by 1.

- 25% = Take the whole and divide by 4.

Percent: A percent is out of 100, and is also another way of saying hundredths.

__Part 2 - Representing Percents.__- 180% =

- 12 3/4% =

- 0.7% =

__Part 3 - Converting Decimals to Percents and to Fractions.__- 26%

Decimal = To find the decimal, take the whole and divide it by 100 to get your decimal.

26 ÷ 100 = 0.26

Fraction = To find the fraction, find the place value of the decimal to get your denominator and to find the numerator remove the decimal.

0.2

__6__

26/100

- 7/10

Decimal = To find the decimal, divide the numerator by the denominator.

7 ÷ 10 = 0.7

Percent = To find the percent, take the decimal and multiply that by 100.

0.7 x 100 = 70%

- 0.024

Percent = To find the percent, take the decimal and multiply it by 100.

0.024 x 100 = 2.4%

Fraction = To find the fraction, find the place value of the percent and that becomes your denominator and to find the numerator remove the decimal.

12

__Calculator__-

60 ÷ 100 = 0.6

0.6 x 20 = 12

- 0.1% of 40

__Mental Math__-

1% = 0.4

0.1% = 0.04

__Calculator__-

40 ÷ 100 = 0.4

0.4 x 10 = 0.04

- 250% of 400

__Mental Math__

100% = 400

100% = 400

50% =

__Calculator__-

40 ÷ 100 = 4

4 x 250 = 1000

**Part 5 - Comb**

**ining Percents.**

**Discount**-

**Discount is the amount you subtract from its original value.**

**Sale Price**- Sale price is a price that is lower than what the regular price was before.

**Total Price with Taxes -**Total Price with Taxes is the final price for an item that you pay extra for.

__Question:__What is the final sale price at each store? Which is a better buy?

Store A: 50% off one day only

Store B: 25% off one day followed by 25% off the reduced price the second day

Price: $260.00

**Store A:**

__Day 1:__

$260 ÷ 100 = 2.6

2.6 x 50 = $130.00

**Store B:**

__Day 1-__

$260 ÷ 100 = 2.6

2.6 x 25 = 65

$260 - 65 = $195.00

__Day 2-__

$195 ÷ 100 = 1.95

1.95 x 25 = $48.75

$195 - $48.75 = $146.25

Store A would be the better buy because you pay less more money than Store B.

**That is my percent post!**
